KORE Aviation H1 Helicopter Headset for Rotorcraft Pilots

With decades of trust from the aviation community and a track record of supporting over 45,000 pilots, the launch of the KORE Aviation H1 marks a new era. One designed specifically for the helicopter cockpit. And it doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them, feature by feature, mission by mission.

Helicopter pilots don’t operate in ideal conditions. They’re dealing with high vibrations, engine whine, limited space, and nonstop radio traffic. The H1 was developed in response to those realities, crafted based on feedback from working pilots and flight instructors who wanted something specific to their missions, not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Min Kim, KORE Aviation’s CEO, explains:

“The H1 is more than just a headset. It’s the result of conversations with working pilots, flight schools, and instructors who asked for something tailored to their everyday helicopter missions.”

The result is a purpose built aviation tool that reflects everything pilots have asked for: comfort, clarity, compatibility, and a price that’s actually reachable.

5 Things You Need to Know About the New KORE Aviation H1 Helicopter Headset

Launching the H1 isn’t just an expansion, it’s a signal that KORE Aviation is listening to the rotorcraft community. And it shows. The KORE Aviation H1 Helicopter Headset is designed to meet the needs of helicopter pilots at every level. Packed with advanced features, this headset is quickly becoming a favorite for enhancing communication and comfort in the cockpit. Here are the top five reasons why it stands out.

The H1 boasts a 24dB Passive Noise Reduction Rating (NRR), making it a game changer for pilots who operate in noisy environments. This level of noise reduction minimizes cockpit noise from engines, rotors, or external disturbances, ensuring you can concentrate fully on your tasks. The mono sound output ensures audio clarity, allowing you to hear critical instructions or alerts with precision. This feature significantly contributes to both safety and efficiency during flights.

Flying for extended periods can be taxing, but the H1 is designed with comfort as a priority. The ultra soft silicone gel ear seals create a snug yet gentle fit, reducing pressure on your ears and providing an effective seal against outside noise. Meanwhile, the extra thick, adjustable headband caters to various head sizes, ensuring even weight distribution. Together, these features help minimize fatigue, enabling you to stay focused and comfortable throughout long-haul flights. Its durable construction ensures it stands up to rigorous use, flight after flight.

This helicopter headset is purpose built for helicopter pilots, featuring a single U174 plug that ensures seamless compatibility with most aviation systems. The durable coiled cord offers flexibility and reliability, standing up to the demands of helicopter environments.

Modern helicopter pilots need tools that are versatile and reliable, and the H1 delivers. Key features include:

  • 3.5mm AUX Port: Connect external devices like MP3 players or smartphones (audio-only) to enjoy music or other audio content during flights.
  • Volume Control Knob: Easily adjust the audio levels for a customized experience.

These features make the KORE H1 an adaptable and reliable tool for helicopter pilots.

Effective communication is critical in aviation, and the H1’s noise canceling microphone ensures your voice is heard loud and clear. The electret microphone with a built-in preamp filters out background noise, making it easier to communicate in high noise environments. Its 360° flexible boom allows for precise positioning, ensuring optimal sound pickup. This means consistent, reliable communication between you, your crew, and the control tower.

Bonus: Premium Protection for Your Investment

The KORE Aviation H1 comes with a custom-fit headset bag, included for FREE, to keep your investment safe. This protective bag shields the headset from dust, scratches, and damage during storage or transport. With its durable build and added protection, the H1 is built to last, making it a dependable companion for all your flights.

Early Feedback: Field-Tested by Real Pilots

One of the clearest signs the H1 hits the mark? Pilots are already talking about it. A commercial rotorcraft operator in the Pacific Northwest summed it up like this:

“I’ve flown with a lot of headsets over the years, and the H1 easily holds its own against much higher-priced brands. It’s got the right mix of comfort, clarity, and simplicity.”

In other words, it doesn’t try to overdo it. It just gets the job done clearly, reliably, and without distractions.

And that’s what KORE has always done best: build headsets that work, without the markup.

A Step Forward in Mission-Ready Audio

Whether you’re logging solo time or flying low in a utility chopper, there’s something reassuring about gear that’s designed with your needs in mind. The H1 isn’t here to chase tech gimmicks. It’s here to offer what pilots asked for:

  • A true helicopter headset with rotorcraft-first design.
  • Durability that can stand up to daily ops.
  • Noise-canceling performance that lets you focus on flying.
  • Comfort that doesn’t fade after hour three.

Available now on KORE Aviation website and on Amazon in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, the H1 is ready to fly.

Headset Guide

Your headset may come with either a single or dual volume control located on one or both ear domes. Rotate the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
If your headset includes a mono/stereo switch located in the Y-block on the main headset cable, select the setting that matches your equipment. Use the stereo position for stereo audio sources. For all other applications, use the mono position. Refer to your aircraft radio or general aviation intercom manual for guidance on the correct setting.
Your headset is equipped with either a full-flex or wire boom that can be bent and positioned for accurate microphone placement. Adjust the boom so the microphone sits at the corner of your mouth, about ⅛ inch from your lips. Do not force the boom past its natural stopping point.
Loosen the oversized thumb nut on the side of the headset by hand. Adjust the headband up or down until the ear domes fit comfortably over your ears. Tighten the thumb nut to lock the position.
Replace the ear seals if they become worn, torn, or hardened over time. To install a new ear seal, insert the lip of the seal into the groove of the ear dome. Hold the dome firmly and keep the top of the ear seal in place while working the lip into the groove around the dome. You may need to pull slightly to ensure the seal fits tightly.
Replace the headband if it becomes worn, torn, or hardened. To replace it, grasp the top liner and gently open the Velcro seam to separate it from the inner strip. Remove the old headband and insert the new one.

General Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help keep your headset performing properly and looking like new.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not submerge any part of the headset in water.

Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe the ear cups and head pad. For heavily soiled areas, use a mild solution of water and household liquid detergent.

To clean the microphone and plugs, wipe them with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.

Ear seals and microphone muffs are replaceable and should be changed as needed when they become worn.
