Kore's KA-1, Noise Cancelling, Aviation Headset with mic.

I've owned a few different brands of aviation headsets over the years. My favorite set has always been my "David Clark, H10-13.4". However, I now find myself having to admit that my new "Kore 's Model KA-1's" are very, very impressive indeed!
I had recently purchased the Kore KA-1's to use only for back-ups. However, after testing Kore's KA-1's myself, with that wonderful "noise cancelling feature", they've now become my favorite default headphones in my airplane. I guess I've always assumed that a product with a popular and well know name, had to be the best. But now I've find I have to rethink my past assumptions. Kore KA-1's easily sound as good, if not better, than my Dave Clarks. And to add insult to injury, I paid nearly 75% more for the Dave Clark H-10,13.4 set!

Solid Headset for Instructors & Students

As a full-time flight instructor, I spend hours in the cockpit every single day so having a reliable and comfortable headset is non-negotiable. I’ve been using the Kore KA-1 for a while now, and honestly, I’m impressed.

First off, it’s surprisingly comfortable, even on long flight days. The gel ear seals are soft and do a great job keeping outside noise down, and the headset doesn’t clamp too tight like some of the cheaper ones tend to do. I can easily wear it for 4–5 hours straight without needing a break.

Audio quality is clean and consistent. ATC transmissions come through clear, and my students have no trouble hearing me. The mic boom is flexible and stays in place no need to constantly readjust mid-flight.

Build-wise, it feels sturdy and well put together. I like the fact that it has independent volume controls for each ear and a mono/stereo switch, which is useful depending on the aircraft I’m flying.

For the price point, this headset honestly punches above its weight. I’ve recommended it to a few of my students who are just starting out and aren’t ready to jump into the ANR game yet. It’s a great option that balances comfort, clarity, and cost really well.

If you’re a new CFI, student, or just want a solid backup headset, the KA-1 is definitely worth considering.

Great buy for the cost

It is 1 of 3 head sets that I own. It works well and I don’t have to worry about battery replacement. The sound quality is comparable. I do believe that my other headset with Bluetooth and noise cancellation is a little better, however for the extra $1000, Kore aviation headset is the better purchase option. Excellent for training and having a spare for a passenger you might take for a ride.
