KORE Aviation Partners with Costanzo Air Flight School to Equip Student Pilots with KA-1 Headsets

KORE Aviation is excited to announce a new partnership with Costanzo Air Flight Schoola respected Part 61 training institution serving aspiring pilots across the New York and New Jersey area. Through this collaboration, KORE Aviation becomes the official headset partner for the school, bringing our trusted KA-1 student pilot headset directly into the hands of students from their very first flights.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to doing things the right way. Strong instruction, a supportive environment, and reliable equipment all play a role in shaping confident pilots. From the beginning of training to advanced stages, having the right tools can make a meaningful difference in how students learn and perform.

Supporting Student Success from Day One

At Costanzo Air, training starts with a focus on fundamentals. Students are introduced to aviation in a way that builds confidence early, whether they are taking a discovery flight or beginning their private pilot training.

As part of this partnership, the KA-1 student pilot headset will be integrated into the school’s loaner program. This means students will have access to dependable, high-quality headsets throughout their training, without needing to invest in gear right away.

Over time, as students progress, they can also take advantage of exclusive KORE Aviation discounts. This gives them the opportunity to own the same headset they trained with, creating consistency in their flying experience.

“We want our students to train with gear they can rely on,” said Daniel Costanzo, Director of Operations at Costanzo Air. “The KA-1 checks every box. It is comfortable, clear, and dependable. Partnering with KORE Aviation ensures our students are set up for success from day one.”

Training in a Busy Airspace Environment

Training in the New York and New Jersey region comes with its own set of challenges. Airspace is often busy, communication is constant, and situational awareness is critical.

For student pilots, this environment provides valuable experience early on. It teaches them how to listen carefully, respond clearly, and stay ahead of the aircraft. At the same time, it also means that having a reliable student pilot headset is essential.

Every instruction from an instructor and every call with air traffic control comes through the headset. If communication is unclear or uncomfortable, it adds unnecessary stress. If it is clear and consistent, it helps students stay focused and confident.

Why the Right Student Pilot Headset Matters

For many students, their headset becomes part of how they learn to fly.

A good student pilot headset should do a few key things well. It should deliver clear audio, reduce background noise, and stay comfortable during long lessons. It should also be simple and reliable, so students do not have to think about it while flying.

The KA-1 headset is designed with these needs in mind. It offers 24 dB of passive noise reduction, a noise-canceling electret microphone, and dual volume controls that allow pilots to fine-tune their audio. The gel ear seals provide comfort over extended use, which is especially important during longer training sessions.

In addition, the AUX input allows students to connect to tools like ForeFlight. This gives them access to in-cockpit audio alerts and navigation cues, helping them stay connected to the modern tools used in today’s aviation environment.

These features may seem small, but together they create a smoother, more focused learning experience.

What Students Experience at Costanzo Air

Costanzo Air is known for its personalized approach to training. Instructors work closely with each student, adapting lessons to match their pace and learning style. This creates a more supportive environment, especially for those who are new to aviation.

Students are encouraged to ask questions, take their time, and build a strong understanding of each concept before moving forward. This approach helps reduce pressure and allows students to develop confidence naturally.

With the addition of KORE Aviation headsets, students now have one less variable to manage. They can rely on consistent equipment while focusing on learning how to fly.

A Shared Commitment to Better Training

At KORE Aviation, we look for partners who care about the long-term success of their students. Costanzo Air stands out for its dedication to personalized instruction and student-first values.

“At KORE Aviation, we believe in empowering the next generation of pilots with equipment they can trust,” said Min Kim, President of KORE Aviation. “Costanzo Air’s strong reputation for personalized instruction and student-first values made them a natural partner. We are proud to support their students at a pivotal stage in their journey, helping them train with confidence and stay focused in the cockpit.”

This partnership is built on that shared perspective. Training is not just about passing a test. It is about building skills that last and creating pilots who are prepared for real-world flying.

Headset Guide

Your headset may come with either a single or dual volume control located on one or both ear domes. Rotate the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
If your headset includes a mono/stereo switch located in the Y-block on the main headset cable, select the setting that matches your equipment. Use the stereo position for stereo audio sources. For all other applications, use the mono position. Refer to your aircraft radio or general aviation intercom manual for guidance on the correct setting.
Your headset is equipped with either a full-flex or wire boom that can be bent and positioned for accurate microphone placement. Adjust the boom so the microphone sits at the corner of your mouth, about ⅛ inch from your lips. Do not force the boom past its natural stopping point.
Loosen the oversized thumb nut on the side of the headset by hand. Adjust the headband up or down until the ear domes fit comfortably over your ears. Tighten the thumb nut to lock the position.
Replace the ear seals if they become worn, torn, or hardened over time. To install a new ear seal, insert the lip of the seal into the groove of the ear dome. Hold the dome firmly and keep the top of the ear seal in place while working the lip into the groove around the dome. You may need to pull slightly to ensure the seal fits tightly.
Replace the headband if it becomes worn, torn, or hardened. To replace it, grasp the top liner and gently open the Velcro seam to separate it from the inner strip. Remove the old headband and insert the new one.

General Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help keep your headset performing properly and looking like new.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not submerge any part of the headset in water.

Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe the ear cups and head pad. For heavily soiled areas, use a mild solution of water and household liquid detergent.

To clean the microphone and plugs, wipe them with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.

Ear seals and microphone muffs are replaceable and should be changed as needed when they become worn.
