KORE Aviation Named Official Headset Partner of Pitcairn Flight Academy

KORE Aviation is proud to announce a new partnership with Pitcairn Flight Academy, a respected Part 61 flight school located in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Known for its close-knit team, personalized instruction, and commitment to student success, Pitcairn Flight Academy will now integrate KORE Aviation headsets into its training program and offer exclusive discounts to enrolled students.

Through this collaboration, the KA-1 and P1 student pilot headset models will become part of the training experience. From the first lesson to advanced stages of training, students will have access to reliable equipment designed to support focus, clarity, and confidence in the cockpit.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to doing things the right way. Strong instruction, consistent mentorship, and dependable gear all play a role in shaping capable pilots.

A Training Environment Built Around the Student

Pitcairn Flight Academy stands out for its approach to training. The focus is not just on meeting requirements, but on helping students truly understand what they are doing in the aircraft.

Located at Heritage Field Airport in Pottstown, the school offers a unique learning environment. Students train in a setting that provides both structure and real-world exposure, helping them develop the awareness and confidence needed for modern aviation.

Instructors at Pitcairn work closely with each student, adapting lessons to fit their pace and learning style. This creates a more supportive experience, especially for those who are just starting out.

“From the very beginning, we set out to raise the bar in flight instruction,” said Andy Landis, Chief Flight Instructor at Pitcairn Flight Academy. “Partnering with KORE Aviation helps us deliver on that goal, providing students with professional-grade headsets that enhance clarity, focus, and overall flight safety.”

Why a Student Pilot Headset Matters

For student pilots, one of the most important tools in the cockpit is the headset.

Every instruction from an instructor and every radio call with air traffic control comes through that headset. If communication is unclear, it can slow down learning and increase stress. If it is clear and consistent, it helps students stay focused and build confidence.

A good student pilot headset should feel reliable from the start. It should deliver clean audio, reduce background noise, and remain comfortable during longer lessons.

That is where the KA-1 and P1 headsets come in.

Built for Real Training Conditions

The KA-1 and P1 student pilot headsets are designed with the realities of flight training in mind. They offer passive noise reduction that helps reduce cockpit noise without adding complexity. The noise-canceling microphone ensures that communication remains clear, even in busy environments.

Comfort is another key factor. The plush ear seals and adjustable fit make it easier for students to wear the headset throughout extended lessons. Over time, this helps reduce fatigue and allows students to stay focused on flying.

The headsets also include auxiliary input support, allowing students to connect to tools such as ForeFlight. This gives them access to audio alerts and navigation cues, helping them stay connected to the systems used in modern aviation.

At Pitcairn Flight Academy, where training is hands-on and detail-oriented, having dependable equipment supports every part of the learning process.

What Students Experience at Pitcairn Flight Academy

Students at Pitcairn benefit from a program that emphasizes both structure and flexibility. Training includes discovery flights, private pilot instruction, and continued progression toward advanced certifications.

Throughout the process, students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and develop confidence in their decision making. This approach helps create pilots who are prepared for real-world flying, not just checkrides.

With KORE Aviation headsets now part of the training environment, students gain consistency in their equipment from day one. That consistency helps reduce distractions and allows them to focus on building their skills.

A Shared Commitment to Student Success

At KORE Aviation, we look for partners who share our belief that pilot training should go beyond simply completing a checklist. Pitcairn Flight Academy reflects that mindset through its commitment to thoughtful instruction and student growth.

“At KORE Aviation, we seek out partners who share our commitment to student success,” said Min Kim, President and Owner of KORE Aviation. “Pitcairn Flight Academy brings a deep sense of passion and purpose to everything they do. Their mission-driven approach, hands-on instruction, and unique location make them an exceptional training destination, and we are proud to support their students on their journey.”

This partnership is built on that shared vision. It is about creating an environment where students can learn with confidence and build a strong foundation for their future in aviation.

Growing the Future of Aviation

This collaboration represents more than just equipment. It reflects a broader effort to support flight schools that prioritize quality instruction, safety, and long-term development.

With more than 50,000 headsets in use, KORE Aviation continues to support students, instructors, and aviation programs across the country. By partnering with schools like Pitcairn Flight Academy, we are helping strengthen the training environments that shape the next generation of pilots.

As the aviation industry continues to grow, the need for well-trained, confident pilots becomes even more important. Partnerships like this help ensure that students have access to both the instruction and the tools they need to succeed.

Headset Guide

Your headset may come with either a single or dual volume control located on one or both ear domes. Rotate the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
If your headset includes a mono/stereo switch located in the Y-block on the main headset cable, select the setting that matches your equipment. Use the stereo position for stereo audio sources. For all other applications, use the mono position. Refer to your aircraft radio or general aviation intercom manual for guidance on the correct setting.
Your headset is equipped with either a full-flex or wire boom that can be bent and positioned for accurate microphone placement. Adjust the boom so the microphone sits at the corner of your mouth, about ⅛ inch from your lips. Do not force the boom past its natural stopping point.
Loosen the oversized thumb nut on the side of the headset by hand. Adjust the headband up or down until the ear domes fit comfortably over your ears. Tighten the thumb nut to lock the position.
Replace the ear seals if they become worn, torn, or hardened over time. To install a new ear seal, insert the lip of the seal into the groove of the ear dome. Hold the dome firmly and keep the top of the ear seal in place while working the lip into the groove around the dome. You may need to pull slightly to ensure the seal fits tightly.
Replace the headband if it becomes worn, torn, or hardened. To replace it, grasp the top liner and gently open the Velcro seam to separate it from the inner strip. Remove the old headband and insert the new one.

General Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help keep your headset performing properly and looking like new.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not submerge any part of the headset in water.

Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe the ear cups and head pad. For heavily soiled areas, use a mild solution of water and household liquid detergent.

To clean the microphone and plugs, wipe them with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.

Ear seals and microphone muffs are replaceable and should be changed as needed when they become worn.
