KORE Aviation Becomes Official Headset Partner for QZ Aviation

We are excited to share that KORE Aviation is now the official headset supplier for QZ Aviation, a Springfield-based flight training provider known for its hands-on instruction and student-first approach. Through this partnership, our KA-1 student pilot headset is now part of QZ Aviation’s training environment, supporting students from their very first lesson through advanced stages of training.

This collaboration reflects a shared focus on what really matters in flight training. Not just getting students through a program, but helping them build real skills, confidence, and awareness in the cockpit.

A Training Approach That Prioritizes Real Learning

QZ Aviation is led by founder Ryan Kuse, who has built the program around a simple idea. Training should feel personal, practical, and relevant to real-world flying.

Instead of focusing only on checklists and minimum requirements, QZ Aviation emphasizes understanding. Students are encouraged to think through situations, ask questions, and develop strong decision-making habits early in their training.

That approach creates pilots who are not just prepared for a checkride, but for the realities of flying in different environments and conditions.

“Flight training is not just about checking boxes. It’s about building real skills and delivering an experience that’s tailored to each individual pilot,” said Kuse. “At QZ, we care about the details, and the KA-1 fits right in. It’s comfortable, clear, and built to last, which is exactly what our students need when they step into the cockpit.”

Why a Student Pilot Headset Matters Early On

For student pilots, the first few hours in the cockpit can feel overwhelming. There is a lot happening at once. Controls, instruments, communication, and situational awareness all compete for attention.

One of the most important tools in that environment is the headset.

A good student pilot headset helps reduce that overload. It allows students to hear instructions clearly, communicate confidently, and stay focused without unnecessary distractions.

If the audio is unclear or the headset is uncomfortable, it adds friction to the learning process. If it works the way it should, it fades into the background and lets students focus on flying.

That is exactly what the KA-1 is designed to do.

Built for Comfort, Clarity, and Consistency

The KA-1 student pilot headset is built with the realities of training in mind. It offers passive noise reduction that helps reduce cockpit noise without adding complexity. The noise-canceling microphone ensures that communication remains clear, even in busy environments.

Comfort also plays a big role. The soft gel ear seals and adjustable fit make it easier for students to wear the headset during longer lessons without distraction. That may seem like a small detail, but over time it has a real impact on focus and performance.

Another practical feature is the AUX input, which allows students to connect to tools like ForeFlight. This gives them access to audio alerts and navigation cues, helping them stay connected to the systems they will use as they progress.

At QZ Aviation, where training is hands-on and focused, having consistent and dependable equipment supports that entire process.

What Students Experience at QZ Aviation

Students at QZ Aviation benefit from an environment that is both structured and flexible. Instruction is tailored to each individual, which helps students move at a pace that makes sense for them.

Training includes discovery flights, private pilot instruction, and continued development beyond the basics. Throughout the process, students are encouraged to build confidence, not just complete requirements.

This approach creates a learning experience that feels more engaging and less rushed. It also helps students retain what they learn, which is critical as they move forward in their aviation journey.

With the KA-1 headset now part of that experience, students have a reliable tool they can depend on every time they step into the aircraft.

A Shared Vision for Pilot Development

At KORE Aviation, we look for partners who care about how pilots are trained, not just how quickly they progress. QZ Aviation stands out for its attention to detail and its commitment to building capable, thoughtful pilots.

“At KORE Aviation, we look for partners who are passionate about shaping capable, thoughtful pilots,” said Min Kim, President of KORE Aviation. “QZ Aviation brings that passion to every lesson. We are excited to support their mission by providing gear that delivers on clarity, comfort, and reliability.”

This partnership is built on that shared vision. Good training takes time, and the right tools help support that process from the beginning.

Building the Future, Together

This collaboration reflects KORE Aviation’s ongoing effort to support flight schools that prioritize safety, student growth, and hands-on learning. By working with instructors who are deeply invested in their students, we are helping create stronger training environments across the country.

Headset Guide

Your headset may come with either a single or dual volume control located on one or both ear domes. Rotate the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
If your headset includes a mono/stereo switch located in the Y-block on the main headset cable, select the setting that matches your equipment. Use the stereo position for stereo audio sources. For all other applications, use the mono position. Refer to your aircraft radio or general aviation intercom manual for guidance on the correct setting.
Your headset is equipped with either a full-flex or wire boom that can be bent and positioned for accurate microphone placement. Adjust the boom so the microphone sits at the corner of your mouth, about ⅛ inch from your lips. Do not force the boom past its natural stopping point.
Loosen the oversized thumb nut on the side of the headset by hand. Adjust the headband up or down until the ear domes fit comfortably over your ears. Tighten the thumb nut to lock the position.
Replace the ear seals if they become worn, torn, or hardened over time. To install a new ear seal, insert the lip of the seal into the groove of the ear dome. Hold the dome firmly and keep the top of the ear seal in place while working the lip into the groove around the dome. You may need to pull slightly to ensure the seal fits tightly.
Replace the headband if it becomes worn, torn, or hardened. To replace it, grasp the top liner and gently open the Velcro seam to separate it from the inner strip. Remove the old headband and insert the new one.

General Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help keep your headset performing properly and looking like new.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not submerge any part of the headset in water.

Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe the ear cups and head pad. For heavily soiled areas, use a mild solution of water and household liquid detergent.

To clean the microphone and plugs, wipe them with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.

Ear seals and microphone muffs are replaceable and should be changed as needed when they become worn.
