KORE H1 Helicopter Pilot Headset (Mono) with Headset Bag - U-174 Plugs

I’m a student pilot and had my David and Clark headset stolen. I was looking for something cheep to get me through school but Kore came in clutch and it has exceeded all expectations and surpassed my old David and Clark. Good job guys.

I bought this headset about a month ago to use for my helicopter pilot training, looking for something that wouldn't bankrupt me like the big-name noise-canceling brands but could still handle the roar of a cockpit. I also plan to keep using it for the Cessna I intend to purchase once I get my license, so versatility was a factor. It is a perfect find for a student pilot imho. The passive noise reduction is surprisingly effective; the 24dB rating definitely takes the edge off the engine noise, allowing me to hear instructor comms clearly without straining. The gel ear seals are a huge upgrade over standard foam pf the headphone they provide during the course: they create a tight seal around sunglasses without digging into my temples. I also really like the dedicated volume knob on the earcup, which is easy to find by feel when you are busy flying. The build feels rugged enough to survive being tossed into a flight bag, and the included carry bag is a nice touch for keeping dust off. There is one thing to be aware of: the clamping force is a bit high out of the box. It can feel a little tight on the jaw after a long two-hour cross-country flight, so I stretched them for 3 days over a stack of book slightly larger than my head. Feels good now!Overall, easy 5 stars. It delivers clear audio and reliable build quality for a fraction of the price of the "pro" gear

This is a well-built passive helicopter headset that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. No gimmicks, no fluff, just solid performance where it matters.Comfort is the first thing that stood out to me. The gel ear seals are excellent and make a noticeable difference, especially in a loud helicopter environment. They seal well without excessive clamp pressure, so you can wear this for long flights without feeling like your head is in a vise. Over time, the padding starts to mold nicely, which only improves comfort.Audio clarity is very good for a passive headset. The noise-canceling mic does a solid job cutting background noise, and communication comes through clean with no static. The wiring and connectors feel robust, with a heavy-duty coiled cord and a snug, confidence-inspiring connection. This is a mono headset, which is standard for aviation. The AUX port works fine for audio input, though a stereo option would be a nice upgrade for music. That said, this is clearly designed as a professional aviation headset, not an entertainment device. In terms of value, it sits in a really nice spot. It’s not quite at the level of premium brands , but it’s far closer than the price would suggest. For back-seat passengers, simulator use, training, or pilots who want a reliable spare without spending a fortune, this is a very smart buy.Bottom line, this is a comfortable, dependable helicopter headset that offers excellent value and performance for the money. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense aviation headset that just works, this one is easy to recommend.

These are insanely comfortable. I am not a pilot at all, but I plug these into the aux on my laptop and the outside world basically disappears. Kids making noise, dog walking around, someone talking in the next room, gone. I put them on and it’s like I stepped into my own quiet little bubble which works GREAT for my noisy brain. The ear cups are super soft and don’t squeeze my head, which is huge for me because I get annoyed fast with tight headphones. I’ve worn them for long stretches while working and watching stuff and never felt that “get these off my head right now” feeling. They feel solid too, not flimsy or cheap, which I appreciate.Only downside, they’re definitely big and not something you casually toss in a bag like earbuds. But that’s also kind of why they work so well. If you want serious noise blocking and comfort and don’t care about looking like you’re about to fly a helicopter while sitting at your laptop, these are absolutely worth it.

After looking at several options, the U-174 plug and the coiled cord setup made this the logical pick for my specific setup. The build quality is impressive, with a sturdy headband and a flex boom that actually stays where you position it. It feels like it can take a bit of a beating in the cabin without falling apart. My passengers and dispatch have both commented on how much better the mic sounds compared to my old set. There is no fuzz or crackling, just clean audio even when things get loud. The 24dB noise reduction does a heavy lifting job of keeping the fatigue down, making the whole experience a lot less draining on the ears. For anyone just starting their flight hours, this is a perfect fit. It offers a premium feel in terms of the ear cushion texture and the sound isolation without the massive price tag of electronic noise-cancelling units. It is a straightforward, dependable piece of gear that does exactly what it says on the box.
