KORE Aviation Partners with Future Pilots of America to Support Student Aviators

KORE Aviation is now the official headset provider for Future Pilots of America Flight Academy, a mission driven training program based in Baxley, Georgia. At its core, this partnership is about supporting student pilots from day one and making it easier to step into aviation.

As part of this collaboration, KORE Aviation KA-1 headsets are now being used throughout the academy. Students will use them during early flight lessons, simulator sessions, and discovery flights. The partnership also includes exclusive headset discounts for enrolled students, which helps remove one more barrier for those just getting started.

For many student pilots, that first lesson can feel like a big step. Having reliable, comfortable equipment from day one can make that experience smoother and more enjoyable.

A Community Built Around Future Pilots

Future Pilots of America has a story that many student pilots can relate to. The organization was founded in 2014 by Trey Geboy, starting as a flight simulator community for aviation enthusiasts. Over time, it grew into something much bigger. Today, it has evolved into a full training pathway that connects curiosity with real flight experience.

At its core, Future Pilots of America is focused on helping people see a future for themselves in aviation. Whether that means introducing younger students to flight through outreach programs or helping more serious trainees move toward a professional path.

If you visit their site, you will notice that the focus goes beyond learning how to fly. The bigger goal is creating exposure, opening doors, and giving students the confidence to imagine themselves in aviation. That is what makes the program stand out.

Why This Partnership Matters for Student Pilots

For a student pilot, the early stages of training can feel overwhelming. You are learning how to manage checklists, communicate on the radio, understand airspace, and control an aircraft all at the same time. On top of that, you are trying to get comfortable in a new environment where everything moves quickly.

Small things can make a big difference during that phase. Clear audio helps you understand your instructor and ATC without second guessing what you heard. Comfort matters because even a short lesson can feel long if your headset starts to bother you. Consistency matters because you want your equipment to work the same way every time you fly.

By integrating the KORE Aviation KA-1 into training and simulator use, Future Pilots of America is giving students a dependable setup from the start. Instead of switching between different headsets or relying on worn out loaner gear, students can train with something consistent.

A Word from Future Pilots of America

“At Future Pilots of America, we’re not just teaching students how to fly,” said Trey Geboy. “We’re helping them picture a future for themselves in aviation. The KORE Aviation KA-1 helps support that goal by giving students clear audio, comfort, and consistency while they build confidence in the cockpit.”

That idea of building confidence early is important. A lot of student pilots remember their first few lessons clearly. It is where habits start forming, communication starts improving, and where aviation begins to feel real instead of theoretical. Having the right tools during that stage helps more than people often realize.

KORE Aviation KA-1 in Training

The KORE Aviation KA-1 was designed with student pilots in mind. It focuses on the basics that actually matter during training:

  • clear communication
  • reliable passive noise reduction
  • comfortable gel ear seals
  • simple, practical features

These are not luxury features. They are everyday features that affect how a lesson feels from start to finish.

During simulator sessions, students can focus on procedures and communication without distractions. During discovery flights, new pilots can experience aviation without dealing with uncomfortable or inconsistent gear. During early lessons, they can start building habits with equipment they will continue using. That kind of consistency is valuable.

A Shared Approach to Aviation

“At KORE Aviation, we look for partners who are focused on helping student pilots succeed,” said Min Kim, President of KORE Aviation. “Future Pilots of America has built a program that makes aviation feel more reachable and more real for the next generation. We’re proud to support that mission and to be part of their students’ journey.”

That shared focus is what brings this partnership together so easily. Both KORE Aviation and Future Pilots of America Flight believe that aviation should feel approachable. It should not feel out of reach or overly complicated for someone just starting out. The goal is to create a smoother path from curiosity to real flight experience.

Supporting the Next Generation of Pilots

At KORE Aviation, we continue to work with flight schools, instructors, and aviation programs that focus on student success. That includes grassroots programs, training academies, and organizations that are actively bringing new people into aviation.

The future of aviation depends on new pilots. It depends on students who are just now taking their first discovery flight or thinking about enrolling in training.

Programs like Future Pilots of America play a big role in making that possible. They provide structure, guidance, and a sense of community that helps new pilots stay motivated and continue progressing.

Looking Ahead

With more than 50,000 KA-1 headsets already in use, KORE Aviation continues to support student pilots, instructors, and aviation programs across the country.

This partnership with Future Pilots of America is another step in that direction. Helping students start strong, making training more comfortable and more consistent. And most importantly, it is about supporting the next generation of pilots as they begin their journey.

Headset Guide

Your headset may come with either a single or dual volume control located on one or both ear domes. Rotate the knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
If your headset includes a mono/stereo switch located in the Y-block on the main headset cable, select the setting that matches your equipment. Use the stereo position for stereo audio sources. For all other applications, use the mono position. Refer to your aircraft radio or general aviation intercom manual for guidance on the correct setting.
Your headset is equipped with either a full-flex or wire boom that can be bent and positioned for accurate microphone placement. Adjust the boom so the microphone sits at the corner of your mouth, about ⅛ inch from your lips. Do not force the boom past its natural stopping point.
Loosen the oversized thumb nut on the side of the headset by hand. Adjust the headband up or down until the ear domes fit comfortably over your ears. Tighten the thumb nut to lock the position.
Replace the ear seals if they become worn, torn, or hardened over time. To install a new ear seal, insert the lip of the seal into the groove of the ear dome. Hold the dome firmly and keep the top of the ear seal in place while working the lip into the groove around the dome. You may need to pull slightly to ensure the seal fits tightly.
Replace the headband if it becomes worn, torn, or hardened. To replace it, grasp the top liner and gently open the Velcro seam to separate it from the inner strip. Remove the old headband and insert the new one.

General Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help keep your headset performing properly and looking like new.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, and do not submerge any part of the headset in water.

Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe the ear cups and head pad. For heavily soiled areas, use a mild solution of water and household liquid detergent.

To clean the microphone and plugs, wipe them with a clean cloth lightly dampened with alcohol.

Ear seals and microphone muffs are replaceable and should be changed as needed when they become worn.
